Lights-Out


Library @ Orchard has moved on. 30 November 2007, Friday, marks the end of an era. The lights are officially out. Not unsurprisingly, it seems that very little people i've talked to actually knew about this. (Hello. Look up from your textbooks once in a while!) After lunch, i went there to have one last look, knowing that i most likely can't make it for the closing party in the evening. It looked like a normal day at the library to me. People were walking around, people were reading. Some librarians were pushing carts around, shelving. Some were decorating the area for the party. The 'restricted office area' with the automatic door looked more 'alive' than usual: people were busting in and out of the room every other minute. It may be the last day of the branch's service, but there was no slowing down.

Don't it always seem to go, that you dont know what you've got till its gone? You know, they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot. So what is going to happen to the library space? They say the best is yet to come, but nothing else compares, right?
